GNC and Autonomy Engineer

Job Qualifications:

We're looking for an engineer in the area of autonomy & GNC to add to the Aurora staff.  The candidate must be accomplished in one, and have extensive experience in several more of the following technical areas:  flight controls, mission management, route & trajectory planning, machine learning, estimation & system identification, and image-processing.  The qualifying engineer will be an aerospace, electrical, or mechanical engineer with proven ability to develop and implement algorithms and software for one of the aforementioned areas.  The culture, environment, and opportunities are that of a small startup company.  An entrepreneurial spirit and unrelenting can-do attitude is what we're looking for.

Specific Responsibilities:

Perform independent and team research & development involving architecting, coding, simulation, and integration of control system components for enabling flight vehicle autonomy, control, and estimation. 

Understand and drive the process of creating system-level requirements and deriving associated software requirements.  

Work side-by-side with world-class researchers to create software and algorithms for innovative autonomy-related products and tools. 

Minimum Requirements:

MS or PhD - Aero/Astro or Mechanical Engineering, or Computer Sciences with robotics emphasis.  Minimum of 4 years experience in industry, with involvement in substantial software system development in the disciplines described above. 

Must have strong C and C++ software development skills, be fluent in Linux, Matlab, and Simulink, with Python/Java experience a strong plus.
